POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR

INFECTION CONTROL

 

COURTYARD PLAZA requires all employees to attend training on “INFECTION CONTROL” INCLUDING Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and other variants prior to providing services to residents as part of their Orientation Training.  This training will cover how the virus spreads, steps to protect themselves and other related information.

 

This facility will adhere to the Center for Disease Control Guidelines in order to address any symptoms observed with residents, such as fever, cough and/or shortness of breath.  The CDC guidelines are incorporated in the facility’s Policy and Procedures manual and will be utilized as part of the employee training.

 

Administrative Staff will advise employees and all guests to the facility who express or observed as having such symptoms, to leave the building and seek medical help from their health care providers immediately.

 

Resident Care Staff will immediately notify the residents health care providers if residents exhibit such symptoms of fever, cough and/or shortness of breath. Notification to residents’ representatives and case managers will be made by the Resident Care Team Leader.

 

The following are warning signs that would require guests, staff and residents to get medical attention immediately.  For residents observed or expressed they are experiencing such warning signs, resident direct care staff must immediately call 911 for transfer of the residents to the hospital:

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

  • New confusion or inability to arouse or become lethargic

  • Bluish lips or face

 

IMPORTANT

Proper hand-sanitizing and handwashing is mandated for all residents, employees and guests.

A copy of this policy is provided to all residents upon admission to COURTYARD PLAZA

All residents and their representatives must comply with this facility’s Infection Control Policy and Procedures in order to maintain an infection-free community/environment.

Covid-19 

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining the health and safety of our residents and staff has been our top priority. As a result of our strict adherence to the CDC guidelines, At Courtyard Plaza, we are committed to following proper safety measures stated by CDC guidelines to protect our residents, their families, and our team members.
         

  • Vaccination Information: 

    • Vaccinations have been offered to all residents and staff for all doses through our contracted pharmacy partner. 

  • Community Safety Protocols & Protect:
     

    • At Courtyard Plaza, we dedicate ourselves to create a healthy and safe environment for our residents and staff. While the COVID-19 pandemic brought a new set of challenges, our team was quick to adapt to these new circumstances so that we can continue a quality experience to our residents. 

    • At our facility, we go above and beyond to protect our residents, staff, and their families. Below you’ll find some of the many ways we have been successful in keeping our residents and staff healthy and safe:
       

      • We monitor residents and staff daily for signs of illness, including temperature checks and inquire about well-being. 

      • Masks are required to be worn in all common areas.

      • The facility is equipped with adequate cleaning supplies. Hand sanitizer is placed around the facility and hand washing stations. 

      •  We are continuing to follow CDC recommended guidelines with socially distanced meals and activities in place. 

      • We regularly have healthcare personnel come to the facility to test residents and staff for COVID-19 in accordance with state mandates.
         

  • Visitation Information: 
     

    • We know how important it is to visit and stay connected to your loved one's. Here at Courtyard Plaza we allow visitation under strict guidelines that follow the Florida Department of Health regulations. Visitors must adhere to all safety protocols at our facility, which include a health screening and wearing a mask at all times. We also encourage the continuation of virtual communication through phone calls, facetime, zoom, etc. Please contact our community if you would like assistance in scheduling a virtual meeting with one of our residents.
